I am an organizational architect. For more than fifteen years I have worked where strategy, organization, leadership and technology meet, which is usually also where they stop fitting together.
My work starts from one observation. Organizations are rarely short of information. They are short of routes that bring the right information to the person who decides, at a time when that person can still use it. When those routes are missing, capable people make reasonable decisions on a basis nobody chose for them, and the result looks like a people problem when it is a design problem.
What I do
I analyze organizations and redesign how decisions travel through them: who holds a question, what a signature stands behind, how much time a review desk actually has, and which decisions a system has quietly taken over. Much of this rests on the Organization Twin, a diagnostic developed by Management Insights over twenty-five years and more than 500 organizations. I am the company's COO.
What I write
I have written several books on management, work and organization. The current series, Organization under AI, asks what AI changes in the architecture of an organization, and the first volume, Cheap to Make, Costly to Check, is available in English. I co-authored UNMANAGED with Lukas Michel and Herb Nold (LID Publishing, London, 2026). My newsletter Before It Counts appears every two weeks.
